Fanazavàna teny frantsay  [Betsimisaraka] (de olatra : champignon ; et tafa : caquet, babil). Nom noté avec l'orthographe « olatafan » par L. A. Chapelier (1804) lettres publiées par G. Fontoynont, Bulletin de l'Académie Malgache 7 (1909) p. 115. Lentinus tuber-regium (Fr.) Fr. (Polyporaceae) ou « Truffe des rois ». Voir aussi holatafa et holatafana.
