Fanazavàna teny frantsay  [Betsileo] (de fotsivolo : cheveux blancs et manoa : accepter ; accepter d'avoir les cheveux blancs ; comme cette plante couverte d'un duvet argenté). Helichrysum triplinerve DC. (Asteraceae). On lui attribue de grandes vertus médicinales ; c'est effectivement un bon désinfectant intestinal et un antibiotique léger. Mais c'est une plante magique, employée notamment lors du salamanga, cérémonie destinée à exorciser un malade « possédé », par un esprit malin et à éloigner les revenants ou ambiroa. [1.196]
