aye-aye   
aiay ~ the aye-aye, a singular nocturnal animal endemic in Madagascar, to capture which, the natives say, causes illness or death. Same as ahay (Betsim.), and haihay [Antsih.]. Supposed to receive its name from its peculiar cry. Cheiromys Madagascariensis.
